Christian C.G. Chavanne
 
A native of the French Riviera, Christian Chavanne, Chef ,culinary consultant, instructor and television host has a passion and appreciation for foods of all cultures with a special emphasis on the cuisines of his native Provence and the Mediterranean as well as California, South West and regional cooking of North America.  There is no greater thrill for him than taking a recipe with excess salt, fat, sugar and cholesterol and transforming  it into an equally satisfying, well balanced, colorful and flavorful meal.
 
 
Beginning at age fourteen, Christian spent nine years training to become a Chef. His apprenticeship spanned several countries, starting in France at the Cannes Yacht Club.  Christian established himself on the United States West Coast and worked as a chef, bartender and restaurant manager, striving to become experienced in all areas of the food and beverage industry.  While living in southern California, Christian became interested in the exciting culinary experiments taking place in northern California’s wine country and moved to the Napa Valley to work for the famed Auberge du Soleil Restaurant as captain and wine steward.
 
 
It wasn’t long before Christian learned of the Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa in Sonoma, California and expressed his desire to resume his work as a Chef.  His talent and enthusiasm for creating healthful foods allowed Christian to return to culinary design.  As Spa Chef for the Sonoma Mission Inn, Christian worked closely with the Spa’s nutritionist in an effort to continually develop exciting and healthy dishes garnering national recognition by Food and Wine magazine.
 
 
Christian was promoted to Chef de Cuisine of the Premier Group which included, the Norwich Inn and Spa in Connecticut and California Terrace in Monte Carlo, Monaco on the French Riviera and national media tour  spokesperson promoting the Spa Food Cookbook across the United States with personal appearances on Good Morning America, as well as all major morning shows, radio and print media.
 
 
Christian joined Four Seasons hotel chain to launch their spa in Irving, Texas where he met his wife Fredna, a native Texan.  As a culinary consultant, Christian’s services were sought after by corporations such as Marriott,  Golden Door Spa and organizations such as the South West Meat Packers Association and  the Kaiser Family Foundation where Christian, along with other nationally known chefs such as Emeril Lagasse, Marin Yang, Susie Heller and Jaques Pepin and other culinary professionals who worked together to promote national awareness of Project L.E.A.N. (Low-fat Eating for America Now) program. 
 
 
Christian joined Galaxy Food Corporation as Director of Research and Development and Corporate Sales implementing a variety of programs with Publix Supermarkets in Florida, Giant Market in Pittsburg, PA and Sbarro Pizza Corporation as well as other national accounts.
 
 
Christian continually experiments with new ingredients and techniques that keep him at the top of this culinary profession.  He and his wife Fredna, currently reside in East Texas. Christian is founder and operator of Ma Cuisine, conducting culinary services and cooking classes and Ma Provence, conducting culinary tours in the Provence region of Southern France. Christian also serves as Executive Program Director for Project H.E.A.T. (Healthy Eating Action Team) TM, a non-profit organization  providing nutrition education for children and families.
 
He and his wife Fredna, currently reside in East Texas.
